Synopsis

Catapulted into Kenya’s stormy politics at the youthful age of 28, he learns to carve his own path, taking his own decisions and stoically staying with them, for better or worse. In the end, this is the compelling story of an individual of character told by himself. This is Musalia Mudavadi's full-length work. It captures and encapsulates the economic malaise that has gripped post-colonial Africa. Using Kenya as a case study, Musalia makes a clinical survey of the development process and offers some new suggestions on how to redeem Africa's ailing and sinking national economies. The book sees development as a holistic and multi-sectoral process. Every segment of the national life has a contribution to make to the development process. No sector is so peripheral as to be taken for granted. Eventually, it is the harnessed and co-ordinated integration of the entire national purview by an astute technocratic leadership that shall salvage the continent from the slough of despond.
